CASE STUDIES

Today, the built and natural heritage are globally under increasing threat from challenges faced such as environmental decay, climate change, indifference leading to neglect, and political conflict. On the other hand, there is evident attention that is growing to raise public awareness and recognition of the value of collaborative actions to conserve and sustain heritage sites for future generations. This section presents precedents and case studies of architectural and urban heritage conservation approaches in Egypt (Cairo and Alexandria) and Northern Ireland.

CASE STUDIES FROM NORTHERN IRELAND

The  Historic Environment Forum  (HEF) hopes that this selection begins to demonstrate the breadth of current activity and inspires further positive action across the sector. The case studies show how the heritage sector is acting to address climate change – and how heritage can become part of the solution to climate change.
